Improvável o referendo ao Tratado no Reino Unido

Segundo a cobertura do Times ao processo da ratificação do tratado para uma constituição para a Europa Jack Straw, chefe da diplomacia do Reino Unido, refere admitir a "inutilidade" da sua continuação:

"Jack Straw announced this afternoon that the Government was shelving the UK referendum on the European Union constitution, despite French and German demands that British voters be asked to vote on the ill-fated treaty.

The Foreign Secretary told the Commons that the rejection of the constitutional charter by French and Dutch voters put the ball in the court of EU leaders, and there would be no point continuing with a Bill paving the way for a UK vote to be held early next year.(...)".
